Tianjin Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is a nongovernmental association on foreign affairs under the leadership of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee and Tianjin Municipal People's Government. In the spirit of strengthening the understanding and friendship between Tianjin and foreign countries, promoting the international exchanges and cooperation, safeguarding the world peace, and promoting common developments, Tianjin Foreign Friendship Association develops connections and exchanges with friendly organizations and personnel all over the world in the name of Tianjin people. The Association is an important channel to develop friendly relationship between people of Tianjin and those of the other countries through the world.

The main responsibilities are:

1, To develop cooperative relationship with pro-China friendly organizations, social groups and personnel in foreign countries; to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship through exchanging of visit, holding memorial meetings, seminars, lectures and bilateral conference, and exchanging of information;

2, To act as a window and bridge of introducing Tianjin to foreigners and promote Tianjin's economic development and further opening-up to the outsideworld;

3, To assist the institutions concerned in Tianjin to develop cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries in the fields of economy, culture, and science and technology etc;

4, To organize the visiting abroad delegations of economic and trade, science and technology, culture and sports etc; to receive foreigners invited by our Association, the National Friendship Association and those in other provinces and cities;

5, To promote the friendly cooperation between Tianjin people and people in foreign countries all over the world.
